Hola Internet of Things! Startupbootcamp, the pan-European accelerator based loosely on the Techstars model, has opened applications for a new program in Barcelona dedicated to accelerating IoT and related ‘Big Data’ startups. 
The UK’s OpenRent, an online renting service that operates as an alternative to traditional renting agents, has secured a “multimillion pound” media for equity investment from Northern & Shell Ventures, which operates Express Newspapers. 
The UK’s SportPursuit, a 1 million member-strong flash sales site for sports and outdoor gear, appears to have made somewhat of a hiring coup. It’s recruited Kath Smith, ex UK managing director for both Adidas and Rebook.
