Service details and important policies

Backup with repair is intended for available user files on an operational and readable source device. It is not a recovery service and does not repair a failing or inaccessible drive. The approved estimate identifies the source, destination, data scope, storage media, and any size-based service tier.

Service scope

What this service may include

  • Copying of available user files within the approved data scope
  • Use of the approved destination or temporary service storage
  • Basic malware scan of copied files when applicable
  • Return of the approved data set with the completed repair

Documented workflow

What to expect

  1. The client identifies the important user data and confirms the available source.
  2. The technician verifies whether the source is readable enough for backup.
  3. The approved data is copied before or during the repair workflow.
  4. The client reviews the returned data promptly after pickup.

Important service notes

Scope, access, and limitations

  • Applications, programs, licenses, online accounts, subscriptions, the operating system, and custom settings are not included unless specifically listed.
  • A failing, encrypted, locked, damaged, corrupted, or inaccessible source may require a separately approved data-recovery service. No data service can guarantee every requested file.
  • Clients should review returned data within seven days of pickup. Temporary service copies are not retained indefinitely and are handled under the current written service terms.

Clear communication

Your written service record

Updates, findings, estimates, approvals, declines, invoices, and pickup notices are documented through the secure 1010Client Portal. Please reply in writing when approval or additional information is requested so the complete service history remains connected to the correct ticket.

Before work continues

The written scope controls

Published service information is a starting point. Device condition, parts, access, data needs, and test results may change the recommended scope. The written estimate and approved service ticket define the authorized work, charges, timing, and transaction-specific terms.
