Service details and important policies

Operating-system clean-up is used when the computer can benefit from software repair without immediately replacing the device. Depending on the approved scope, work may include resolving startup or file-system corruption, removing unnecessary software, installing available updates, reviewing drivers, and performing basic post-service testing.

Service scope

What this service may include

  • Review of startup, update, performance, and stability concerns
  • Approved operating-system repairs and available updates
  • Removal of unnecessary trial or problem software when appropriate
  • Post-service startup and basic functionality testing

Documented workflow

What to expect

  1. Diagnostics determine whether cleanup, repair, or reinstallation is the more practical option.
  2. The recommended scope and any data-related risk are documented before service.
  3. The approved work is completed and the device is tested within the available operating conditions.
  4. Post-repair notes identify remaining limitations or client actions when applicable.

Important service notes

Scope, access, and limitations

  • Data backup is not included unless it is separately quoted and approved. A failing, encrypted, inaccessible, or severely corrupted drive may require data recovery instead.
  • A reinstall or major repair does not automatically include every third-party application, manufacturer utility, printer program, subscription, license, or custom setting.
  • Microsoft, Apple, administrator, BitLocker, FileVault, firmware, activation, or software-license credentials may be required to complete the approved work.

Clear communication

Your written service record

Updates, findings, estimates, approvals, declines, invoices, and pickup notices are documented through the secure 1010Client Portal. Please reply in writing when approval or additional information is requested so the complete service history remains connected to the correct ticket.

The written scope controls

Published service information is a starting point. Device condition, parts, access, data needs, and test results may change the recommended scope. The written estimate and approved service ticket define the authorized work, charges, timing, and transaction-specific terms.
